SummerWeen: A Radio Play Festival
This summer, no one can hear you scream, me scream, we all scream for ice cream. The Sidekick Troupe presents: The SummerWeen Radio Play Festival! We simply cannot wait for Halloween, so we're bringing it to you early. The SummerWeen Radio Play Festival is a collection of short, silly, and spooky radio plays written and directed by different independent artists.
The live readings will take place in Manhattan, New York in the Summer of 2026 through The Sidekick Troupe.

The Bill
The Deal - Ryan Kaminski:
A short horror/thriller play set in the mid-1950s. A widow is visited by a sinister stranger looking to collect one of her husband’s unique outstanding debts.
CAST LIST:
VIVIAN HOWARD: age 30s-40s. High maintenance, proper etiquette, sickeningly sweet.
ARTHUR NELLIGAN: age 40s-50s. Articulate and refined. Dapper and sophisticated.
Blood Oranges - C.J. Celeiro:
Trina's Italian, Gideon's from somewhere... but Trina thinks Gideon's a vampire. She should know, she's one too. Will this chance encounter at a beach party end with romance, or is someone about to become lunch?

GIDEON: 20s? Some sort of European accent.
The Mystique and Intrigue of the Cadaver Club - McKelvey Collins:
For years, mysterious men in cloaks and masks have been stalking the campus of Washington and Lee University, their motives cryptic and their methods inexplicable. It’s said that if you catch one, he can make all your dreams come true. But Alex and his friends are about to get more than they bargained for when they go after the Cadaver Club.

Late Arrival - James McLindon:
An exhausted traveler wants to be checked into her hotel room on Halloween by the newbie desk clerk in the worst possible way … and gets her wish.

This Is What I Am - Brynn Hambley:
Paige is just trying to get the hell to sleep, something she's been struggling with since she was a kid. She turns on a sleep meditation, only for the voice to lead her through a traumatic memory of a supernatural experience she had with her mother's doppelganger. Did Paige murder her mother, or the monster?

MEDITATION VOICE/RYAN HAVERSHAM: the soothing voice of a man with an accent (English, Australian, French, etc.); any age, any race.
The Ghost Walkers - Thomas J. Misuraca:
A group of friends host a ghost hunting podcast and are this week investigating the abandoned Pinhook Hospital in New Salem. Turns out there is a lot of supernatural activity here, but The Ghost Walkers may not live to tell about it.
CAST LIST:
Bill: Creator of the paranormal podcast, The Ghost Walkers. Takes his work very seriously. Late 20’s/early 30’s.
Rachel: His girlfriend, skeptic. Near in age.
Colby: His best friend, near in age. Just as serious, but more about the history than the paranormal.
Irene: Colby’s Girlfriend, a little younger. Doesn’t take any of this seriously.
Announcer: Older man or woman for introduction.

When Frankenstein's monster escapes, the local torch and pitchfork stores try to convince the doctor not to destroy him.
